My current work is process-oriented and seeking to connect with an evolving exploration of material through line, form and color. Throughout the process, I am breaking down and rebuilding beliefs about painting; painting is my teacher, teaching me possibility, potential, awareness and acceptance. The work examines how an entire painting changes with one mark; the role of frustration and self-evaluation in the process and the reassertion of my intention to suspend judgment. Over and over again, I return to the present relationship with the painting—to focus on developing that, remaining flexible and open with the evolution of my work.
